It is water-based, non-toxic, & has no foul smells like gum tragacanth. The best part is how easy it is to use. Just spread it on the edges or flesh side of your leather & rub your edges with a slicker or canvas. The friction works in cream & polishes your edge to a smooth glossy edge. You can also apply to the flush/fuzzy side of your leather to give a smooth finish.
